4K PROGRAM HOLDS TRAINING ON BASIC RABBIT PRODUCTION
The Karne ng Kuneho para sa Kalusugan at Kabuhayan (4K Program) conducted a training program on basic rabbit production, for members of San Mateo Rabbit Meat Association (SMRMA) and Rural Improvement Club (RIC) Makapilapil. Dr. Honeylet J. Nicolas, Vice President for Research, Extension, Production and Development (VPREPD) and Project Leader of the 4K Program, served as the resource speaker. Dr. Nicolas discussed the basics of rabbit production in terms of the living environment, eating habits, and breeding stock. The training was under one of the extension program components, the Farmer Livestock School on Rabbit Enterprise Management (FLS-REM Project) of the 4K Program. It was held on March 22, 2023, at the Farmers’ Training Center, BASC.
Before the lecture proper, BASC inked a memorandum of agreement with SMRMA and RIC Makapilapil. The inking of the MOA was headed by Dr. Nicolas, VPREPD and Dr. Imee D. Esguerra, Director for Extension Services Office.
The training program concluded with the dispersal of rabbits to the SMRMA and RIC Makapilapil to support the rabbit farming of the organizations.
