SUPPORTING THE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS

SAFE SPACES ACT SEMINAR

On May 16, 2025, the Bulacan Agricultural State College – Doña Remedios Trinidad (BASC-DRT) Campus successfully conducted a Safe Spaces Act Seminar with the theme “Empowered Voices, Respect in Every Space: Promoting Awareness and Action Against Harassment.” The seminar, attended by all students, focused on raising awareness about the Safe Spaces Act (Republic Act No. 11313) and its role in protecting individuals from gender-based sexual harassment in educational institutions, workplaces, public spaces, and online environments.

The seminar provided participants with a comprehensive understanding of the provisions of the Safe Spaces Act, emphasizing the rights and responsibilities of individuals in creating respectful, inclusive, and harassment-free environments. Through informative discussions, students were encouraged to recognize inappropriate behaviors, uphold respect and accountability, and actively contribute to building a campus culture grounded in dignity, equality, and mutual respect.

The activity reinforced the institution’s commitment to promoting human rights, gender sensitivity, and a safe learning environment where every member of the academic community can learn and thrive free from discrimination and harassment.
