On September 19, 2025, the Bulacan Agricultural State College (BASC), in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), successfully provided financial assistance to 349 students from low-income families through the Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan–Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI-CIDSS) program during a payout held at the BASC Multipurpose Gymnasium in San Ildefonso, Bulacan. The initiative recognized the completion of a 25-day community work engagement, during which students rendered services and contributed their skills to various offices across the BASC campus while gaining practical work experience. Each student received ₱13,750 as compensation for their service, providing financial support for their educational needs, daily expenses, and future endeavors. The program promotes poverty alleviation, access to education, decent work opportunities, and reduced inequalities by empowering students from economically disadvantaged families. This collaboration also highlights the importance of partnerships between higher education institutions and government agencies in providing meaningful opportunities for the youth, supporting their families, and contributing to inclusive community development.
