“EXPANDING THE WOMEN-LED CHEMICAL PESTICIDE-FREE INTEGRATED BACKYARD FARMING IN BULACAN,” JANUARY 15, 2025

The team behind the DOST-PCAARRD-funded extension project, “Expanding the Women-Led Chemical Pesticide-Free Integrated Backyard Farming in Bulacan,” continue to strengthen stakeholders’ engagement through a series of project orientations.

On January 15, 2025, Project Leader Dr. Imee D. Esguerra, alongside Dr. Imelda S.A. Navarro, Mr. Rodelio T. Alejo, Mrs. Aisanne Marie McNatt, and Ms. Ashlee M. Viagedor, visited the local government units (LGUs) of Balagtas and Guiguinto, Bulacan. The team met with women’s group officers, and Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO) personnel to discuss the project’s rationale and objectives.

At LGU Balagtas, the Project Management Team (PMT) led an orientation session with MAO personnel, headed by Municipal Agriculturist (MA) Norberto A. Estanislao, and key Rural Improvement Club (RIC) officers. Meanwhile, in Guiguinto, the PMT met with Municipal Mayor Hon. Atty. Agatha Paula A. Cruz and MA Dr. Roel G. Dela Cruz to further discuss the project’s goals and collaborative opportunities.

By fostering strong partnerships with local leaders, the initiative aims to empower women farmers and promote sustainable, pesticide-free farming practices across Bulacan.
