“EXPANDING THE WOMEN-LED CHEMICAL PESTICIDE-FREE INTEGRATED BACKYARD FARMING IN BULACAN” JANUARY 21, 2025

The project management of the DOST-PCAARRD-funded extension project, “Expanding the Women-Led Chemical Pesticide-Free Integrated Backyard Farming in Bulacan,” continues to engage key stakeholders through a series of project orientations.

On January 21, 2025, Dr. Imee D. Esguerra, project leader, along with Dr. Imelda S.A. Navarro, Mr. Denvir Godoy, and Ms. Ashlee M. Viagedor, visited the City of Baliwag and the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Balagtas, Bulacan. The visit aimed to provide the rationale and objectives of the project to barangay chairpersons, women’s group officers, and Municipal Agriculture Office’ (MAO) personnel.

The initiative seeks to empower women farmers by promoting chemical pesticide-free backyard farming, enhancing food security, and supporting sustainable agricultural practices in the province. Further engagements and training sessions will be conducted in the coming months.
