February 2: World Wetlands Day

The United Nations marked February 2 as World Wetlands Day to celebrate the anniversary of the adoption of the Convention on Wetlands on the same day in 1971.

 

 

March 3: World Wildlife Day

The United Nations proclaimed March 3 as World Wildlife Day to celebrate and raise awareness of the world’s wild animals and plants.

 

 

March 21: International Day of the Forests

On this day, member nations celebrates and raises awareness of the importance of all type of forests.

 

March 30: Earth Hour

Earth Hour is a global event that encourages people to turn off their lights for one hour to raise awareness about climate change and the need for energy conservation. This symbolic act reflects our collective commitment to protecting the environment and addressing the urgent challenges of sustainability.

 

 

April 22: Earth Day

Earth Day on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection.

 

June 5: World Environment Day Celebration

World Environment Day is the largest global platform for environmental public outreach,

 

celebrated by millions of people in over 100 countries.

 

 

June 25: Arbor Day

In the Philippines, Filipinos celebrate this event on June 25th

wherein projects and activities are targeted towards planting trees and
ornamental plants as well as driving awareness on its importance to the environment.

 

 

Plastic Free July

Plastic Free July is a global movement to encourage everyone not to use single-use plastics to prevent the generation

of non-biodegradable waste that later pollutes the ocean and endangers marine wildlife.

 

 

September 8: National Green Building Day

Third Saturday of September: World Cleanup Day

An international event to raise awareness over mismanaged
waste and encourages people to take action by holding clean-up activities.

 

 

September: National Family Week

The observance of National Family Week usually falls on the last week of September to celebrate the importance for all Filipino families to bond, to strengthen communication, and maintain healthy relationship with one another especially for those separated by distance.

 

 

October 16: World Food Day Celebration

World Food Day is a Global Day of Action dedicated to addressing hunger and promoting food security

 

worldwide. Organized by the United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

 

November 1: World Vegan Day

World Vegan Day is a global event that promotes veganism and
a plant-based diet.

 

November: National Climate Change Consciousness Week

Climate Change Consciousness Week is an annual event in the Philippines that promotes awareness about climate change and its effects. It gathers various sectors, including government, businesses, academia, and civil society, to collaborate on sustainable solutions and environmental action.

 

December 11: International Mountain Day

International Mountain Day is an event that focuses on raising awareness of the importance of mountains to ecosystems and local communities. It encourages efforts to protect mountain environments and promote sustainable development for the benefit of those who rely on them.
