The Advancements in Agricultural Biotechnology: Shaping the Future of Farming seminar, conducted on March 28, 2025 at the Rene Cayetano Hall, BASC Main Campus, was organized by the Guild of Future Agriculturists (GFA) to enhance students’ understanding of modern agricultural biotechnology and its transformative role in the future of farming. The seminar introduced agricultural students to the latest developments, innovations, and applications of biotechnology while highlighting its historical evolution and its significant contributions to agricultural productivity and sustainability.
The activity provided participants with valuable insights into how biotechnology can address contemporary agricultural challenges, including improving crop productivity, enhancing food security, increasing resistance to pests and diseases, and promoting environmentally sustainable farming practices. By exposing students to emerging technologies and scientific advancements, the seminar strengthened their technical knowledge, critical thinking, and readiness to contribute to the modernization of the agricultural sector.
