The Sculptor’s Edge: Fruit Carving Contest 2025, held on May 7, 2025, was successfully organized by the BASC Horticulture Society as part of its initiatives to promote horticulture, agricultural appreciation, and creative excellence. Carrying the theme “Sama-samang Ani, Sama-sama sa Tagumpay,” the competition provided students with an opportunity to showcase their artistic talent and technical skills in fruit carving while highlighting the beauty, diversity, and value of horticultural produce. Participants demonstrated remarkable creativity and craftsmanship by transforming various fruits into intricate works of art that reflected themes of abundance, unity, and agricultural heritage.
The contest served as an experiential learning activity that combined agriculture, art, and innovation, allowing students to apply practical horticultural knowledge while developing creativity, precision, and problem-solving skills. It also promoted appreciation for agricultural products by demonstrating their aesthetic and economic value beyond food production. Through friendly competition and collaboration, the event encouraged student engagement, strengthened camaraderie, and fostered pride in the field of horticulture and agriculture.
