SQUASH BREAD AND JAM MAKING

The Squash Bread and Jam Making training, conducted on March 28, 2025, was a community-based extension program organized by PAFT in collaboration with the College of Engineering and Technology (CET) and the Institute of Computer Studies (ICS). Entitled “Bahay at Yaman ni San Martin de Porres, Inc. (BYSMPI) Training on Basic Food Processing: Bread and Jam Making,” the activity was held in Bonga Menor, Bustos, Bulacan to equip community members with practical knowledge and skills in food processing using locally available agricultural products, particularly squash.

The training introduced participants to basic food processing techniques, emphasizing the preparation of squash bread and jam as value-added products that can improve household food utilization and create livelihood opportunities. Through hands-on demonstrations and skills development sessions, participants learned proper food preparation, processing methods, quality standards, and product development, enabling them to explore small-scale entrepreneurship and income-generating activities. The program also promoted the efficient utilization of locally grown agricultural commodities, encouraging innovation and reducing post-harvest losses through value addition.
