On March 14, 2025, the Institute of Computer Studies (ICS), in collaboration with the Builders of Information Technology Society (BITS), successfully conducted a symposium entitled “Understanding Intellectual Property: Intellectual Property Essentials for BSIT Graduating Students” at the BASC Function Hall, Bulacan State Agricultural University.
The symposium aimed to equip graduating Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) students with fundamental knowledge and practical skills on Intellectual Property (IP), including the importance of protecting original works, innovations, and technological outputs. Participants were also guided on the proper procedures for accomplishing and filing Intellectual Property application forms, preparing them to safeguard their future innovations and creative works.
Through expert discussions and practical guidance, the activity enhanced students’ awareness of intellectual property rights, encouraged responsible innovation, and strengthened their readiness to pursue professional and entrepreneurial endeavors while promoting ethical practices in research, technology, and software development.
