GOAL 13: Climate action

Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts

Bulacan Agricultural State University (BASC)actively pursues climate action through various avenues. First, BASC is taking active steps to reduce carbon footprints by tracking energy consumption, investing in renewable energy sources, and adopting environmentally friendly policies.

Secondly, as the lone higher education institution in the province of Bulacan, BASC plays an active role in educating and raising awareness among the next generation of leaders and professionals. By integrating sustainability and climate-related courses and activities into the curricula, BASC empowers students with the knowledge and skills on climate solutions necessary to address environmental issues.

Moreover, through university research and innovations, BASC informs local governments, communities, and stakeholders about green technologies, sustainable practices, and climate science. These research engagements contribute valuable knowledge and solutions to the challenges posed by climate change.

Lastly, BASC collaborates with government agencies to amplify the impacts of its climate actions. It shall remain steadfast in contributing to the global efforts of combating climate change. One of its ways forward is to enact and implement policies toward becoming carbon neutral in the year 2035.
