GOAL 10: Reduced Inequalities
Reduce inequality within and among countries
Bulacan Agricultural State College, with its three campuses has wholeheartedly embraced Sustainable Development Goal 10: Reduced Inequality, making it a cornerstone of its vision and values. BASC recognizes the inherent vulnerability of Indigenous Peoples, a reality acknowledged by the United Nations. The university is steadfastly committed to safeguarding Indigenous rights and preserving their unique cultures and traditions. BASC’s commitment to equity and inclusion is evident in its admission standards, which welcome individuals from diverse backgrounds. The university fosters a vibrant learning environment that celebrates diversity and promotes equal opportunities for all. To further champion gender equality and sensitivity, BASC established the Gender and Development Office in 2021. This office spearheads gender-sensitive training initiatives, instilling a culture of respect for human rights and creating a campus environment that embraces diversity. BASC’s unwavering commitment to a safe and inclusive learning environment is further reinforced by the establishment of the Committee on Decorum and Investigation (CODI). CODI operates on a university-wide basis and adopts a zero-tolerance stance against all forms of discrimination and violence, ensuring that every member of the BASC community feels respected, valued, and protected. BASC’s dedication to reducing inequality extends beyond its campus walls, reaching out to the surrounding indigenous communities. The university’s growing student, workforce and leaders’ population, particularly among women, is fostering greater equality in education and socio-economic status.
